On Monday & Tuesday, we will plan and rehearse our partner scenes for performance. Performances will begin on Wed--these are a major project for the marking period. You will be responsible for giving peer feedback as well as performing. Evaluation criteria will be discussed prior to performances.
We move from improv to character and scene work. Following our table work on OUR TOWN from last week, we will put the George and Emily scene on its feet and talk about what choices the actors should make based on the table work and analysis. At the end of the week, we will work with a scene from A MARRIAGE PROPOSAL. On Friday....maybe a little improv!
We will close up our Improv Unit 1 with an attempt at a "Harold" (a specific structure of long-form improv) in two teams headed by the mentors. From there, we move on to OUR TOWN. You will be asked to find an entry point into the script from one of the ways outlined in the dramaturgy handout. Prepare notes on the play, using your entry point, for our discussions on Wed - Fri.
