We begin The Age of Innocence! Reading this week: ch's 1 - 2 due Tues; ch's 3 - 7 due Wed; 8 - 11 due Thurs.
This week we prepare to read The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton by reading one of her short stories, "Xingu." On Tues, Wed & Fri, we will do shared inquiry discussions on the short story. Remember to be working on your LTGWS 2-pager+!
On Monday we finish up LTGWS and you will begin a major writing assignment on the novel. Tues - Fri we will be working with How to Read Literature Like a Professor. Quiz on Tues.
2-Pager on the articles is due on Monday.
We will continue our work with Let The Great World Spin this week. On Tuesday and Thursday, we'll work with the specific storylines that you selected for concentration. Friday is Summer Reading Day! Be ready to share the memoir, biography or autobiography that you read. How We begin our work with your assigned summer reading text, Let the Great World Spin. We'll begin with a close reading of the introductory chapter and begin to get into the structure of the novel.
Six-Word Memoirs are due on Tuesday. A 2-Pager on last week's readings ("My Graduation Speech" and "Debate, Discussion....") will be due on Mon 9/8. Be sure to be reading How to Read Literature Like a Professor, which is due Mon 9/15. |
